Welcome to
The National Will Database
A database of Wills and Executors
What is the The National Will Database?

The National Will Database was set up in order to try and ensure that everyone who makes a will has the best chance of having their wishes implemented upon their death. The National Will Database is a central registry of Wills created in the United Kingdom and the rest of the world. We ensure that if your will is registered with us that the chances of finding and implementing Your Will on your death are significantly increased. If you are trying to find the executor for someone who has passed away or you have a Will that you want to make easier to find by the people named on that Will, then this database is here to help.
Why Register with The National Will Database?
If you were to make a will today there is no guarantee that the will would be implemented unless it could be found. This is surprisingly common. We live in an age where people move on a regular basis both within and between countries. As time passes it is all too easy to think that you have made a will and that you have taken care of your loved ones. Please remember
IF
YOUR WILL CANNOT BE LOCATED, IT CANNOT BE ENFORCED!
Does it cost to register?
It's just £1 for each year of registration. Additionally, because we think this is an essential service, we will be running a number of promotional events where you will be able to extend your registration. No snags or hidden costs. £1 per year to give you peace of mind.
Does it cost to search?
No! You can search through the database to find a will as much as you like. The only cost comes if you want the full details of the Solicitor or Executor holding the will. The cost of retrieving this information will be £10 for a standard retrieval. If the search is more complicated (for example if you only have partial details of the deceased) then we can offer a custom service which would be priced on an individual basis.
What if I don’t have a Will to register?
You can make a Will through our web-site, just click on the “Make a New Will” button on the left of the screen and follow the instructions.
Okay! So how do I register my will?
Simply click on the “Register My Will” button on the left and add your name, date of birth, address and the name of the executor holding your will. Its as easy as that!
What if my Will is kept somewhere other than a Solicitors?
Not a problem! We can store details of other depositories although we do recommend that this is a secure site rather than just under the floor board!
